HIGH-VOLUME PRODUCTION OF 3DPRINTED CUSTOM MADE MOUTHGUARDS

Over the last five years Brainport Eindhoven-based company 3Dmouthguard worked hard to create
the most advanced mouthguard for all sports. From its technical launch in 2018 3Dmouthguard
transformed its decentral production into an efficient and smooth industrialised process. They have
now capacity for printing over 150,000 mouthguards per year, with an ambition to grow to an annual
production capacity of over 5 million mouthguards in three years. The company transformed a dental
lab into a digital lab where an intraoral scan is converted into a mouthguard in five seconds, shortening
mouthguard production time from scan to delivery.

For the material, 3Dmouthguard is teaming up with former-DSM-now-Covestro Additive
Manufacturing to develop a material that could be used for mouthguard applications.

The digitalisation of the dental industry in combination with the 3Dmouthguard software create
excellent opportunities to offer a customer friendly approach. Users have access to a more
comfortable design and fitting process as well as a shorter delivery time and faster repurchase process.
